Athens International Airport – Hall A

The GoldAir Handling lounge is in Hall A of Athens International Airport. This lounge falls under big list of lounges that you can access with a Priority Pass card. The lounge is easy to find, it is located airside after passport control in the main terminal building. It is located on Level 2 of the non-schengen area of the international departures lounges.

I visited this lounge earlier this month and I thought I would share my experience with you!

Design and Ambiance

The lounge seemed to be very new with a modern looking interior design. It was very well lit with a lot of seating area.

My flight was late in the evening around 9 pm local time so the ambiance was calm and quiet. This was perfect for doing work and gave a sense of privacy. It might get a bit busier at peak hours or holiday period.

Even though the lounge is fully self service, the staff team’s service was great when it come to any support and in clearing out cutlery and tableware. The lounge was also very clean.

Food and Drink

As mentioned before, the lounge is fully self service which I find a great feature in lounges.

This section is my favourite! Who doesn’t love some free food and drink?!

In terms of food, there was a range of food from salads to main dishes, I have added a list below:

• Cheese and ham sandwiches
• Greek salads
• Main dishes included beef and pea stew and kebabs
• Sweet potato soup
• Vine leaves with beef and rice, it was great!
• Multiple dessert options such as chocolate mousse and blueberry mini muffins
• fruits pastries

There was a great selection of alcohol which was highlighted with a wine tap dispenser. Soft drinks, coffee and tea were also available.

Facilities

One thing that I enjoyed about this lounge is the availability of showers that you can reserve with the reception team. It was great to have a shower in a lounge before continuing my journey.

Conclusion

Overall, the lounge experience at the Hall A Goldair lounge was great. I do think that my experience was influenced by the calmness in the lounge which is something I rarely find in other lounges. This might be massively different if it was a busier time of the day.
